1944年當霍克海默、阿多諾提出警言,工業化社會轉向之因於合理化時,波蘭尼亦提出了自我調節市場的潛在危險。現今Bernard stiegler卻認為理性的回歸反將社會帶入了無理性unreason、愚蠢和瘋狂統治下的社會中。二十世紀後半葉為哲學所揚棄的政治經濟學批判、以及後結構主義則唯有留下來面對這無奈的場景、並試途面對、去解除這愚蠢的統治和全球性規模的經濟危機。 今時今日需要以新的理論與概念重新去思考這些問題。後結構主義者利歐塔、德勒玆、德里達等人的作品須回溯於其黑格爾及馬克斯的思緒中重新被閱讀、再理解。但我們亦須要配合納奧米克萊恩對米爾頓弗利曼以及支加哥學派的批判,並伴隨其震撼學理的想法。事實上Bernard Stiegler 認為一種永久性的震撼狀態自工業革命開始,通過了創造性破壞所帶來的消費主義模式己開始存在至今。結果一個資本主義式的毀滅欲望與理性破壞浸透於每一個機構之中,並出之以啟蒙教育系統、大學出類拔萃的產品、機構之名下。 Bernard Stiegler 通過對從馬克斯到德里達的強而有力的批判思考,重新開展新的概念武器,來對抗這長久以來的震撼破壞。他認為學校、大學須重新思考自身的處境、狀態並進行改造、革新。新的教育機構須重新審視、制定數位化與及互聯網所可能帶來的危機、以及機遇,使我們能充分地從加以利用並擺脫二十一世紀人類知識與愚蠢所可能帶來的另一震撼破壞。
